About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Estate & Gamekeeping Assistant to join our team at Bamford Property Limited on the Wootton Estate based in Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a business that values sustainability and environmental responsibility.
What does this role involve day to day?
- General ground maintenance, including grass cutting and strimming
- Fencing and upkeep of release pens and estate boundaries
- Tractor driving and operation of large farm machinery
- Rearing and caring for pheasants and partridges
- Feeding and dogging-in duties
- Assisting with beating during shoots
- Daily livestock supervision and animal welfare
- Preparing feed and water supplies for livestock
- Loading and unloading resources within the work area
- Monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards
- Maintaining equipment and general animal husbandry
About you:
We are seeking a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team. You will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Chainsaw qualifications (CS30 & CS31)
- Strimming and spraying qualifications (NTPC)
- Experience in rearing game birds (desirable)
- Experience of working with gun dogs
- Competence in operating large farm machinery (tractors and material handlers)
- Strong attention to animal welfare and safety
