About the role:
As a Product Specialist within JCB Power Products, you’ll act as the subject matter expert for assigned products throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Working at the interface between engineering, quality, supply chain and production teams, you’ll ensure products are manufactured efficiently, meet quality expectations and support the delivery of world-class power solutions to customers.
You’ll play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes, supporting new product introductions and driving continuous improvement activities. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions to ensure product and manufacturing excellence.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Acting as the technical expert for assigned products within the manufacturing environment.
• Developing a thorough understanding of product design, functionality and critical-to-quality characteristics.
• Translating product requirements into robust and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Supporting the development, implementation and optimisation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste and enhance process capability.
• Conducting process validation activities and supporting capability studies.
• Collaborating with Design Engineering, Research & Development and Production teams to ensure products are designed and manufactured effectively.
• Leading and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including pilot builds and production ramp-up.
• Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, control plans and process standards.
• Supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for product and process-related issues.
• Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards and quality management systems.
• Participating in audits, quality reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Providing technical support to production, maintenance, quality and customer support teams.
• Working with supply chain and engineering teams to align manufacturing capabilities with product requirements.
This will be suited to you if…
• You have experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• You possess a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
• You hold an HNC or are working towards an HND in Engineering, Manufacturing or a relevant technical subject.
• You have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles.
• You are confident analysing technical problems and implementing practical solutions.
• You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with a range of stakeholders across the business.
• You are highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• You enjoy working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• You have experience interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• You are passionate about quality, efficiency and delivering continuous improvement.
Even better if…
• You have Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• You have APQP and/or PPAP knowledge or certification.
• You have awareness of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• You have experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• You have previous involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
• You have experience supporting process validation, capability studies and quality improvement projects.
