About the role:
As an Assembly Operative at JCB, you will play a key role in the hands‑on assembly of components and products, ensuring they are built to the required quality, safety and production standards. You will work as part of a team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where accuracy, consistency, and teamwork are essential to meeting customer and business demands.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Assembling components and products in line with work instructions and quality standards.
• Working to production targets and deadlines in a busy assembly environment.
• Using hand tools, fixtures and equipment safely and correctly following training.
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Following standard operating procedures and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Completing basic IT tasks such as recording build information and following digital instructions where required.
• Supporting continuous improvement by identifying and reporting issues or improvements.
• Communicating clearly with team members, team leaders and supervisors.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation and safety within the work area.
This will be suited to you if...
Essential:
• You have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing quality work.
• You can work effectively to targets in a fast‑moving production environment.
• You have good written and verbal communication skills.
• You are comfortable following instructions and using basic IT systems.
• You understand and follow safe working and manual handling practices.
• You demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability.
Desirable:
• You have previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• You have experience using hand tools or mechanical equipment.
• You have an understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.
• You are familiar with working on production lines or within team‑based operations.
What happens next?
Ordinarily, our Resourcing Team reviews and shortlists CVs. If shortlisted, you’ll speak to one of our Recruiters to discuss the role further. Our interview process usually consists of an initial team’s interview followed by an in-person interview.
