The Opportunity- Territory Manager – Construction Equipment – JCB Australia

About the role:

As a Territory Manager for Construction Equipment for JCB Australia, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping dealer performance and supporting the continued expansion of JCB’s presence across key metropolitan regions. Based in Melbourne, you'll partner closely with authorised JCB dealers to drive sales capability, strengthen product knowledge, and unlock growth opportunities across your territory.
This role supports JCB’s transition into a new Australian subsidiary, offering the chance to influence national and regional sales activity before moving into a dedicated metro-focused territory as the network matures. Importantly, this is not a direct retail sales role, your core mission is to enable our dealer partners to win in competitive markets.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • Managing and supporting JCB’s authorised dealers across your assigned territory.
  • Working closely with dealer principals and sales teams to execute sales strategies and grow market share.
  • Delivering product training, sales coaching, and technical knowledge sessions to enhance dealer capability.
  • Conducting regular dealer visits to review inventory, analyse pipelines, forecast sales and strengthen relationships.
  • Supporting dealers with customer demonstrations, site visits, tender submissions and product positioning.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, market trends and major construction projects within your region.
  • Ensuring consistent brand representation, merchandising and product presentation across dealer locations.
  • Providing accurate territory reporting, forecasting and CRM updates to support regional planning.
  • Collaborating with internal JCB teams to align dealer activity with national commercial goals.

This will be suited to you if…

  • You have experience in territory management, dealer management or channel sales, ideally within construction, machinery, automotive or industrial markets.
  • You are commercially minded with strong understanding of equipment markets and dealer business models.
  • You excel in building strong relationships and influencing dealer teams at all levels.
  • You enjoy coaching, training and helping others grow capability and confidence.
  • You are proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
  • You are confident conducting site visits, demonstrations and supporting competitive tenders.
  • You understand how to analyse pipelines, forecast demand and identify growth opportunities.
  • You are adaptable and excited by the opportunity to support a new subsidiary during a period of transformation and growth.
  • You are willing to travel regularly across your territory and occasionally interstate as required.
