About the role:
We’re looking for an exceptional leader to shape the future of JCB’s Government & Municipalities division — a rapidly scaling, strategically critical global growth area. This is your chance to lead a high‑impact function at the heart of JCB’s long‑term success. As General Manager – Government & Municipalities, you’ll take ownership of JCB’s global public sector strategy, ensuring consistent, high‑quality tender performance across all regions while developing capability within JCB and our dealer network.
You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, strengthen dealer performance, and represent JCB with professionalism and authority in political, industry, and public‑facing environments.
What does this role involve day to day?
• You’ll lead the development and execution of the global G&M strategy, aligned to JCB’s long‑term growth priorities.
• You’ll build multi‑year regional growth plans, including tender mapping, competitor analysis, and forecasting.
• You’ll own the entire tender lifecycle, driving improvements in qualification, governance, compliance, and bid quality.
• You’ll ensure consistent adoption of the G&M operating model across all territories.
• You’ll track conversion rates, tender pipeline health, reasons for loss, and dealer performance to drive continuous improvement.
• You’ll implement dealer standards, tender playbooks and governance expectations to raise capability worldwide.
• You’ll coach and support dealers on pre‑tender engagement, customer value propositions and presentation standards.
• You’ll influence senior internal stakeholders to adopt new ways of working, even where resistance exists.
• You’ll develop and mentor a high‑performing internal team, supporting long‑term succession and capability building.
• You’ll represent JCB in political, press, industry and sector‑specific forums, including live and recorded media.
• You’ll lead JCB’s approach to key subsectors such as Highways, driving sector‑wide influence and commercial growth.
