About the role:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer within JCB Compact Products, you will play a key role in driving the development, optimisation and readiness of our manufacturing processes. You’ll support both current production and new product introduction (NPI), ensuring our operations remain efficient, safe and capable of delivering the highest levels of quality. With your strong engineering background and hands‑on experience, you’ll influence product manufacturability, improve processes, and lead key operational projects that shape the future of our manufacturing capabilities.

What does this role involve day to day?

·       Designing, developing and optimising manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency and reliability.

·       Leading NPI activities for operations, including operational readiness reviews at relevant project gates.

·       Supporting the development, layout and implementation of new production lines.

·       Preparing, updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assembly processes.

·       Identifying and delivering process improvements that reduce downtime, defects and overall manufacturing cost.

·       Working closely with product design teams to ensure new products are fully manufacturable and aligned to operational capability.

·       Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to equipment, processes, and materials.

·       Forecasting capacity and resource requirements to support future business growth.

·       Ensuring all processes comply with safety, health and environmental regulations.

·       Managing automation and intelligent tooling capex projects from concept through to successful implementation.

This will be suited to you if…

·       You hold an HNC or degree in an engineering discipline (preferred)

·       7+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.

·       You’re experienced with modern manufacturing philosophies and continuous improvement methodologies.

·       You have strong hands‑on capability, remain steady under pressure and work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

·       You’re proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, ideally NX and AutoCAD, and confident using wider digital tools to support engineering activities.

·       You’re organised, structured and able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

·       You communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and thrive as part of a cross‑functional team.

·       You bring strong problem‑solving skills and enjoy improving processes, equipment and workflows.

·       You have experience in people or project leadership and can drive projects through to completion.

·       You’re committed to high standards of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
