About the role:

Our Toolroom division is responsible for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining jigs and fixtures used across all JCB sites worldwide. As a Toolmaker, you’ll join a highly skilled team working on a wide range of new and existing projects.

You’ll interpret engineering drawings to produce precision‑machined components from raw materials or welded assemblies, working closely with design engineers and fellow toolmakers. Collaboration, accuracy and problem‑solving will be key to your success in this role

What does this role involve day to day?

·       Working with Toolroom design engineers, group leaders and team leaders to fully understand fixture concepts and requirements

·       Interpreting engineering drawings to machine high‑precision components

·       Using a range of Toolroom equipment, including millers and lathes

·       Assembling machined and purchased components into complete jigs and fixtures

·       Carrying out maintenance and repairs on Toolroom jigs and fixtures across World Headquarters

·       Collaborating with colleagues to ensure high standards of quality and efficient workflow

This will be suited to you if…

·       You have relevant engineering training and are skilled in manual machining and assembly

·       You have strong attention to detail and enjoy producing precision components

·       You’re flexible and open to operating additional Toolroom equipment once trained

·       You’re a strong team player who can work effectively with designers and fellow toolmakers

·       You’re comfortable working shifts when required

·       You take pride in high‑quality workmanship and delivering accurate, reliable components

What happens next?

Ordinarily, our Resourcing Team reviews and shortlists CVs. If shortlisted, you’ll speak to one of our Recruiters to discuss the role further. Our interview process usually consists of an initial team’s interview followed by an in-person interview.
