About the role:

This position provides specialist manufacturing expertise to JCB’s businesses and group functions. While the role supports all areas of JCB’s operations, there will be a strong focus on project delivery and paint operations. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a candidate who wants to make a meaningful contribution to JCB’s goals of process excellence, operational performance, and sustainable growth.

What does this role involve day to day?

· Providing technical support to JCB businesses, helping resolve manufacturing challenges across operations.

· Carrying out capacity and constraint analysis to identify bottlenecks and support planning.

· Optimising utilisation of resources to improve efficiency and productivity.

· Leading and supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance processes and reduce waste.

· Investigating new technologies and manufacturing innovations to strengthen future capabilities.

· Developing layouts, concepts, and process designs for new or improved operational areas.

· Reviewing and supporting capital expenditure, ensuring strong justification and value for money.

· Producing data and data analysis to guide decisions and support key business metrics.

· Contributing to the digitisation of processes, helping transition from manual to digital workflows.

· Supporting and managing projects, ensuring delivery against cost, quality, and timelines.

· Preparing management information and operating standards for use across the business.

· Supporting delivery of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and growth targets.

· Applying structured problem‑solving techniques to resolve issues effectively and sustainably.

· You have strong manufacturing knowledge and enjoy providing technical support to varied operational teams.

· You’re motivated by improving processes, identifying waste, and driving efficiency.

·You enjoy analysing data and using insight to influence decisions.

· You’re curious about new technology and innovative manufacturing solutions.

· You’re comfortable working across multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities.

· You have an eye for detail and enjoy creating layouts, concepts, and process designs.

· You’re confident supporting capital investment and challenging assumptions where needed.

· You’re excited by digitisation and the use of modern tools to improve ways of working.

· You’re a strong communicator who can work with stakeholders at all levels.

· You enjoy solving problems and want to contribute to continuous improvement and operational
