About the role:

As a Learning and Development Business Partner, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of talent across our organisation. Your mission will be to drive capability, performance, and retention through innovative learning strategies and impactful development programmes. By aligning people development with our ambitious growth plans, you’ll help create a competitive edge and ensure our teams are equipped to deliver excellence today and in the future.

This role will occasionally involve international travel, giving you the opportunity to collaborate globally and support development initiatives across different regions.

What does this role involve day to day?

Working closely with the Head of Learning & Development and wider HR team, you’ll:

  • Design and deliver strategic talent development initiatives that build capability across all levels of the business.
  • Lead the evolution of our Leadership and Management programmes, ensuring our leaders are equipped to drive performance and role model our values.
  • Champion our cross functional leadership programmes, fostering collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to deliver outstanding products.
  • Drive the Talent and Succession strategy, identifying critical roles, facilitating internal mobility, and supporting senior leaders with talent planning and coaching.
  • Enhance our Onboarding experience, ensuring new starters are engaged and productive from day one.
  • Coach individuals and teams, building confidence and unlocking potential.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, influencing stakeholders and aligning development with business needs.
  • Manage the talent budget, ensuring effective use of resources and measurable impact.
  • Support global development initiatives, occasionally travelling internationally to align and deliver programmes across regions.

This will be suited to you if...

  • You’re experienced in global organisations and understand the nuances of working across cultures and geographies.
  • You’re a specialist in Learning & Development, ideally with experience in technical or engineering environments.
  • You hold a degree in Learning & Development, HR, or a related field, and/or a CIPD qualification.
  • You’re a confident facilitator with a track record of engaging stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.
  • You bring strong communication and influencing skills, and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional settings.
  • You’re strategic yet hands-on and able to see the big picture while delivering timely, high-impact solutions.
  • You’re resilient, adaptable, and passionate about helping others grow.

What happens next?

Ordinarily, our Resourcing Team reviews and shortlists CVs. If shortlisted, you’ll speak to one of our Recruiters to discuss the role further. Our interview process usually consists of an initial team’s interview followed by an in-person interview. We’ll keep in touch throughout the process but if you have any questions, please get in touch at recruitment@jcb.com

What’s in it for you?

This is your chance to join a company that values expertise not only in rewards but also in real employee care. At JCB you don’t just get a competitive salary, 33 days’ holiday and access to our company pension—you can also use our onsite gym, in-house doctor and dentist. We have an ULEV car scheme available for our employees too. Then there’s the JCB Rewards Hub, which gives you discounts with high street retailers. Feel like biking to work? There’s our Cycle to Work Scheme.
