About the role:
Join JCB Materials Handling as a Senior Compliance Engineer, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our machines meet global safety and regulatory standards. You’ll work across a diverse product range including Teletruks, Loadalls, RTFLs, and Rotating Telehandlers, supporting the development of safe, legal, and market-ready products.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Interpreting and applying global regulatory standards (e.g., CE, UKCA, ANSI, ISO, Machinery Directive, Tractor Type Approval).
• Managing compliance documentation in SAP, including Declarations of Conformity, Certificates, Data Plates, and Noise Certifications.
• Supporting design teams to embed compliance from concept through to production.
• Maintaining technical files and documentation to demonstrate legislative conformity.
• Liaising with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
• Conducting risk assessments and supporting functional safety evaluations.
• Monitoring regulatory changes and advising on business impacts.
• Delivering training and guidance on compliance best practices.
• Supporting product testing and validation.
• Leading internal audits and supporting external inspections.
This will be suited to you if:
• You hold a degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or have equivalent experience).
• You have proven experience in compliance, certification, or regulatory engineering—ideally in off-highway, automotive, or industrial machinery sectors.
• You possess strong knowledge of international machinery regulations and standards.
• You are proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
• You’re confident working with technical documentation and regulatory submissions.
• You have excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
