About the role:
As a Health & Safety Advisor at JCB, you’ll be responsible for promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards and company policies. A key part of this role will involve identifying potential hazards, implementing effective control measures and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance across the business.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Deliver effective risk management within the business, including ensuring risk reduction and mitigation measures are implemented and there is appropriate emergency preparedness.
• Ensure compliance to HS&E legal requirements, JCB policies and international H&S and E management standards.
• Monitor HS&E performance trends to propose objectives and improvement plans for managers to implement.
• Identify HS&E competence requirements and deliver the necessary training, supported by HS&E Co-ordinators if assigned.
• Report and investigate all HS&E incidents, near misses and hazard spots and follow up improvement actions.
• Advise management in changing the HS&E culture and provide effective HS&E governance within the business.
This will be suited to you if
• • You have or are working towards a NEBOSH Diploma, a relevant degree or are a GradIOSH.
• You have a IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) Practitioner level certificate, or relevant degree.
• You have proven experience working within HS&E.
• You have an understanding of environmental management.
• You’re enthusiastic, show commitment and have a sense of urgency and passion for continual improvement and best practice in HS&E.
