About the role:
JCB has a long and hard-earned reputation in the Global Defence equipment sector. We offer commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) construction machinery as well as bespoke Military products. As the Defence Contracts Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering highly complex military contracts across a wide range of machines and customers. Alongside managing existing business, your role will involve the analysis of opportunity portals to identify future contracts from start to finish, management of existing customer relationships and the development of tender documents using the experience and expertise of multiple facets of the business. In this role, you’ll also be responsible for updating and maintaining marketing assets to ensure customer visibility of this important product range.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Project management and delivery of highly complex military contracts
· Analysis of opportunity portals to identify future Defence business
· Research and analyse tender requirements
· Prepare tender documents, including commercial analysis and responding to customer enquiries
· Ensure all requirements are met and that the tender is presented in a clear and concise manner
· Manage the entire tender process from start to finish
· Monitor and track the progress of contracts to ensure smooth end user delivery
· Provide regular updates to key stakeholders including senior management
· Management of existing customer relationships
· Updating and maintaining Defence marketing assets
· Opportunity for international travel as required
This will be suited to you if
· You have a Business / Engineering Degree Level education or relevant equivalent experience
· You have knowledge of Government procurement procedures and processes
· You have strong cross functional networking capability
· You’ve got the ability to build strong customer relationships
· You have commercial acumen
· You have strong problem-solving and multitasking skills
· You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
· You have experience with budget management and financial planning
· You have a comprehensive understanding of JCB’s product range, this is desirable but not essential
