About the role:
The engine development facility within the JCB Group Engineering is responsible for the design, development of the JCB engines for both JCB and OEM applications. Due to the ongoing continuous improvement, we are moving towards the implementation of ISO17025, we are looking for a Quality Technician/Engineer to assist with the implementation and then the maintenance of this, within our award winning diesel and hydrogen engines development facility. Reporting into the Facilities quality lead, this position will join our professional, dynamic team to support the delivery of business objectives through the development and implementation of excellent quality practices.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Day to day management and calibration of our instruments.
· Liaising with calibration suppliers, packaging and shipping instruments out for calibration and repair.
· Checking of certificates, booking in and storage of instruments
· Assisting with the development and then the maintenance of the ISO17025 standard
· Ensuring all processes required to meet the higher levels required by the regulatory bodies are fulfilled.
· Ensuring all servicing and calibration of equipment and instrumentation is done to the required standards (ISO/IEC 17025 & regulatory type approval) and within the planned time periods.
· Ensuring all documentation is created and maintained for the above.
· Conducting internal audits and support in the management of third party suppliers.
This will be suited to you if
· You have knowledge of ISO quality systems, 8D process is considered essential.
· The ideal candidate will be trained to Internal Auditor level.
· You can demonstrate extensive knowledge of engine development lab, instrumentation.
· You have knowledge of Diesel engine operation, preferably in an off-highway environment would be a significant advantage.
