About the role:

The engine development facility within the JCB Group Engineering is responsible for the design, development of the JCB engines for both JCB and OEM applications. This development takes place in JCB Power Systems Research & Development Centre, based at Foston, where we have 18 world class diesel/hydrogen engine development test cells. The main focus for this position is to ensure these are maintained and repaired to a high standard and in the most efficient and effective way.

What does this role involve day to day?

· Smooth running of the test laboratory. Routine and preventative maintenance being a key part of what we do.

· Quick response to cell breakdowns, keeping the test cells running, being our main priority.

· Repair of electrical / mechanical / electronic equipment in the development engine test cells and infrastructure.

· Service and calibration of equipment used in the engine research lab.

· Bespoke test rigs construction.

· Integration and commissioning of new equipment.

· Liaising with external suppliers.

This will be suited to you if

· You are trained in electro/mechanical/electronic discipline, or experience in test and repair of electronic equipment, PCs, printed circuit boards, etc. would be a distinct advantage.

· You have experience in a maintenance field, electronics or have a fundamental understanding of how a development engine test cell works.

· You have experience in an automotive powertrain or off highway engine environment.
