About the role:
JCB is seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented Senior Sales Manager to significantly expand our market share within the European construction equipment sector. This crucial role will focus on developing and maintaining strong relationships with key large-scale contractors across the designated territory. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the respective market dynamics, key players, and prevailing business practices.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve ambitious revenue targets within the assigned territory.
• Identify, qualify, and cultivate new business opportunities with major construction contractors.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Accurately forecast sales and provide regular, insightful progress reports to senior management.
• Collaborate effectively with internal JCB teams (Marketing, Product Support, Finance) to ensure seamless client service and deal closure.
• Negotiate contracts, ensuring favourable terms and maximising profitability.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements in the construction equipment industry.
• Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements within the construction equipment industry.
• Travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience within the construction equipment industry, demonstrably exceeding targets.
• Proven experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
• In depth understanding of the European construction market, including key contractors and their operational requirements.
• Native-level fluency in either German or French, plus strong English language skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and relevant sales tools.
• Experience selling JCB equipment is a significant advantage.
