About the role:
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Compact Product and Sales Specialist to join the Product Sales team to support JCB’s ambitious growth plans. Reporting to the Product Manager, the role entails representing the voice of the customer within the JCB business to ensure we have the right products in the right markets, supported appropriately, both now and in the future.
What does this role involve day to day?
• New product introduction process (NPIP) - Delivery of the following tasks such as customer evaluation, product benchmarking, specification, competitive pricing position, creation of product briefs, marketing materials and supporting regional launches.
• Analyse markets and evolving trends to identify new sales sectors for the Compact Product JCB range.
• Operational and Engineering support including concessions, sales specials, product radar, model rationalisation / Yellow Series, input into projects, stock management, JCB dealer system (JDS) structuring, descriptions, pricing management and Livelink utilisation.
• Provide the business with market intelligence, competitive benchmarking, and sector/ application knowledge.
• Responsible for delivery of competitor comparisons & hub content.
• First point of contact for the sales team for technical sales information.
• Provide product training internally within JCB and to the dealer sales force to ensure the whole sales team is fully conversant with the product and its use.
• Working with other JCB departments to develop and maintain both internal and external sales support and marketing material including customer literature, technical specifications, and website information.
• Supporting the regional and dealer sales team at virtual and physical events, exhibitions, shows and product training sessions.
This will be suited to you if
• You have excellent attention to detail, are well organised and a dedicated team player who can multitask and work well under pressure.
• You can demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of urgency to get things done quickly, effectively, and accurately.
• You’re highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• You’re a confident user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• You have a good commercial business understanding.
• You have experience and confidence in presenting and negotiating.
• You have the ability to prioritise tasks, and the ability communicate at all levels of the business is essential as you’ll be dealing with many different teams at different levels of the JCB organisational structure.
• You have an excellent working knowledge of our products.
• You understand the relevant marketplaces and operational needs of our customers.
• You have a proficient understanding of the dealer’s business model.
• You have experience of using a sales code structuring computer application is ideal but not essential.
• You have a technical background and potential experience having worked with agricultural or construction machinery.
• You’ll have a sense of positivity to keep learning, keep delivering great ideas and keep developing. This role would suit an agricultural or construction practitioner with a keen commercial insight and business understanding if you’re not coming from a similar role.
