The LiveLink team is the driving force behind the uptime of a vast fleet of 500,000 globally connected machines. Our core product, JCB LiveLink, is a cloud-based platform used by customers to monitor machine telematics, informing safety, sustainability, and efficiency across both JCB machines, mixed fleet assets, construction projects, and agricultural sites.
We are seeking a highly skilled Telematics Senior Engineer with expertise in construction machine architecture, IoT, and telematics hardware. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the integration of telematics systems into vehicle platforms, ensuring compatibility and functionality while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement telematic solutions.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Telematic System Integration: Leading the integration of telematic systems into vehicle platforms, ensuring seamless compatibility and functionality
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with design, software, and hardware engineers to develop and implement telematics solutions
· Requirements & Documentation: Defining and document telematic system requirements, specifications, and interfaces to guide development
· Testing & Validation: Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure telematics systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards
· Issue Resolution: Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues, working closely with relevant teams to implement corrective actions
This will be suited to you if
· You have a strong foundation in electrical engineering, with experience in embedded systems, vehicle electronics, or CAN bus communication
· You possess solid telematics system understanding, Have knowledge of telematics hardware, IoT devices, and their integration into vehicle platforms
· You possess diagnostic & troubleshooting skills and have the ability to analyse telematics data, identify system malfunctions, and provide resolutions
· You have experience in software development principles, embedded programming, and communication protocols such as MQTT, CAN, and Modbus
· You have experience in working with mechanical engineers, software developers, and service teams to ensure seamless telematics implementation
