Overview of the role
As a member of the fast-paced and highly motivated JCB Service operational purchasing team, you will be responsible for an exciting and varied portfolio of suppliers, covering several key commodity areas, ensuring a correct purchasing strategy is in place to efficiently support JCB’s dealers & customers globally.
What does this role involve day to day?
• You will be responsible to ensure that parts are sourced considering the total cost of ownership, where you will be challenging suppliers over several fundamental criteria such as: Lead-Times, Cost, Quality, MOQ’s and their Reliability. Working with our Supply Chain team to maintain efficient levels of stock during this challenging time.
• You will be continuously searching for cost down initiatives such as re-sourcing, localisation, rationalisation and supplier negotiations in order to remain competitive and to best support the global customer base.
• You will be supported to investigate opportunities by the wider JCB community as each department collaborates to achieve the same goal. You will work closely with several cross-functional teams, including the Inventory Team, Customer Service, Technical Service, and Global Warehouse Functions.
• The role has several key work-streams, and a large portion of the role operates on SAP, where having the ability to learn new systems quickly is vital, and experience of previously using the system is preferable.
This will be suited to you if
• You are a experienced purchasing professional or possess supply chain experience
• You have experience in supplier negotiation & Supply-chain knowledge
• You have experience of leading projects
• You have experience of working in cross functional teams
