About the role:
Our award-winning Occupational Health Department currently employs five Occupational Health Nurses, an Occupational Health Physician, and a full-time physiotherapist. We provide a full remit of occupational health services to staff which includes:
· A professional and high-quality Occupational Health Service in all areas of Occupational Health (OH) across JCB
· Providing expert OH advice to the Company’s managers, staff and within Human Resources
· Enabling compliance with the Company’s OH related policies, procedures, and practices, together with relevant legislative requirements
· Contribute positively to the Occupational Health team with autonomous practice
What does this role involve day to day?
· Support the work of the Occupational Health team, by: undertaking health surveillance including spirometry, audiometry and Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) testing
· Maintaining and updating the Occupational Health database
· To contribute to the administration of the department including reception duties, diary management and arranging meetings
· Any other duties as may reasonably be required, consistent with the grade of the post
· To assist in the delivery of wellbeing and workplace health activities and campaigns
This may include:
- Providing administrative support and event planning
- Supporting the promotion of events
- Playing an active role in events designed to support the Health and Safety of employees, such as undertaking basic health and wellbeing tests and check staff (e.g. taking blood pressure and providing straightforward health and wellbeing advice to employees)
This will be suited to you if
· Have prior experience working as an Occupational Health Technician
· Evidence of knowledge or recognised training in Spirometry and audiometry
· Evidence of being able to communicate well at different levels of an organisation
· Time management skills
· Ability to travel to other JCB sites (Full UK Licence, and own car)
· Support appropriate professional development programmes within available resources
· Provide health education and health promotion to patients, either individually or in group
