Overview of the role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will need to liaise closely with key internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve your objectives. As a key point of contact for the Business Unit’s Finance function, you will need to be approachable and knowledgeable and be able to advise and respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner.
This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the chance of future development opportunities.
This position will be key in delivering accurate and timely financial data and reporting in accordance with the Group Finance Calendar.
What does this role involve day to day?
• Bank reconciliation – weekly cash postings, leading to the month end bank reconciliation and reporting to Group Finance.
• Intercompany reconciliation – monthly statement reconciliation and mismatch resolution. Post month end invoice clearance and query resolution.
• Manual sales invoicing – weekly raising of part sales invoices.
• VAT returns and reconciliation – monthly VAT calculation and reporting to Group Taxation.
• Accruals & Prepayments – mainly linked to Accounts Payable e.g. non-production orders, GRNI and unmatched. Other ad hoc accrual and prepayment postings.
• Support the Accounts Payable/Management Accounts function as and when required.
• Overhead analysis
• Assisting with other month end activities as required.
• Raising commercial invoices for overseas intercompany.
This will be suited to you if
• You are who are working towards a professional qualification
• You have previous experience of working within a Finance function.
• You have a high level of numeracy and be confident in using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUPS etc.).
