The Opportunity – Level 2 Welding Apprenticeship
Start date – September 2025, typically for 15 months
Starting Salary - £15,000
Minimum Entry Criteria – You’ll need a minimum of 2 GCSEs in Maths and English at D/3 or above. You’ll also need to be aged 18 by February 2026 to be eligible to apply
What does the Welding Apprenticeship Scheme involve day to day?
The 15 months you’ll spend on our Welding Apprenticeship programme will line you up for a career that’s lifelong. Taking a practical, hands-on approach, you’ll see how we position, prepare and check welding equipment. You’ll be applying the skills acquired at the JCB Academy in a practical setting at the bay where you will be stationed.
Our experts will open your eyes to just how satisfying a career in welding can be as they prepare you for life at the business end of the manufacturing process. Think of the satisfaction you’ll feel seeing one of our iconic yellow machines roll off the production line and knowing that you’ve built it.
- We’ll be shortlisting and sending out links to our online assessments in November/December 2024.
- Through December 2024 to February 2025, if you've been shortlisted following your online assessment you will be sent an invite to one of our in-person Assessment Centres.
- In-person Assessment Centres will take place from January to April 2025.
- We aim to call all candidates whether successful or unsuccessful a few weeks after the Assessment Centre has taken place.
- All of our apprentices and graduates will start their exciting journeys with a full induction week in September 2025!
